The History of Jurists’ Congresses in the Czech Lands and Slovakia

This monograph aims to provide a comprehensive overview of the national legal congresses held in the Czech lands and Slovakia during the early 20th century, a phenomenon that had largely been forgotten until recently. The congresses, held between 1904 and 1949, served as vital forums for legal discussions, contributing significantly to the development of law in the region, much like their counterparts in Western Europe. The revival of the Czech Lawyers’ Congress in 2022 in Prague reignited interest in these historical events, marking a significant step in reestablishing this tradition.

The publication includes a detailed appendix featuring a table summarizing the topics, contributions, and resolutions of the various congresses, providing a valuable reference for scholars. The text is also supplemented with historical photographs and images of key archival documents, offering readers a vivid portrayal of the events discussed. The monograph not only chronicles the history of legal congresses in the Czech lands and Slovakia but also emphasizes their importance as forums for legal debate and reform, contributing to the ongoing development of law in the territory of Czech Lands.

Medieval and early modern glass in the Moravian-Silesian borderlands

This monograph provide a comprehensive overview of the glass products from the 13th to the middle of the 17th century in the Moravian-Silesian borderlands in the context of contemporary development in the Czech lands and Europe. The work deals with the basic development tendencies of glass, but also the characteristics of individual periods, the connection to the social context and the position of glass as a specific trade item. The foundation stone of the study was archaeological material from 18 sites, mainly from the bourgeois environment, less from noble residences and church buildings. In addition to archaeological sources, historical written sources, iconographic sources and chemical analyzes were used.
