6 Jun 2025

Our IT specialist Radek Gomola took part in the PKP Sprint Oslo 2025 on June 2–3, 2025, joining the main development team of the Public Knowledge Project (PKP) led by Alec Smecher. During the two-day event, he worked on a variety of tasks within the Open Journal Systems (OJS) framework and engaged in collaboration with international colleagues.

A key part of the sprint was the presentation of several Diamond OA plugins developed at Masaryk University as part of the European CRAFT-OA project. The showcased tools included:

Together with other developers involved in the project, Radek contributed to the design and development of a brand-new plugin named Context Enhancer. Building on his earlier work, this plugin introduces a new approach to enriching and utilizing metadata in OJS. It is now available via the Munipress Github.

We are proud to take part in international open-source development and to help advance the quality and accessibility of open scholarly publishing.
