Books in Brno 2024. The successful second year of the Masaryk University Advent Book Festival attracted thousands of visitors
Almost 5,000 visitors came to the second year of the Masaryk University Advent Book Fair and Literary Festival Books in Brno, which took place in the Moravian Library on 29 and 30 November. Nearly 60 publishers presented their products at bargain prices, and there was a rich supporting programme with the participation of nearly 40 authors, translators, publishers and other creative people. The festival featured author readings, discussions, workshops and creative activities for children and adults, and culminated in the awarding of the newly established Masaryk University Book Prize in Brno.
The positive feedback received from visitors and exhibitors alike confirms that Books in Brno is becoming an integral part of the cultural life of Brno in the pre-Christmas period. The organisers are already working on preparations for the next edition, which promises to combine book offers, educational programmes and inspiring encounters.
