Title in English: Philosophy, Politics and Law. Studies from 1948–1951
František Weyr (1879–1951) can undoubtedly be considered the most important personality in the history of the Masaryk University Faculty of Law and the most important Czech lawyer of the first half of the twentieth century. During his lifetime he wrote several monographs, dozens of scholarly articles and hundreds of contributions to newspapers. In order to give the research community a comprehensive view of František Weyr and his work, his last unpublished book, Philosophy, Politics and Law. Studies from 1948–1951.
In reading this book, Weyr's profound philosophical knowledge, beginning with antiquity and ending with the philosophical works of the authors of the first half of the twentieth century, is evident at first glance. The focus of Weyr's knowledge was, of course, German philosophy, led by his lifelong role model Arthur Schopenhauer. Weyr identifies to some extent with Schopenhauer's worldview, as both shared a pessimistic attitude towards life.
