Books in Brno 2025: A Successful third edition full of inspiration
The Books in Brno 2025 advent book fair and literary festival has wrapped up its third edition, once again proving that Brno truly thrives on books and reading. Over six floors of the Moravian Library, 56 publishers presented a vibrant mix of titles across all genres. Visitors could not only browse and buy books, but also enjoy a rich accompanying programme featuring 38 events, from author talks to creative workshops.
Attendance remained strong this year, with nearly 5,000 visitors coming to explore the festival. For the second time, the programme also included the announcement of the Books in Brno Award, with 17 publishers submitting 26 nominated titles.
A quick on-site survey showed that visitors left not only with new books, but also with a sense of inspiration and enjoyment from the friendly, lively atmosphere. For the third year in a row, Books in Brno succeeded in creating a welcoming space for discovery, encounters, and a shared love of literature—firmly establishing its place among the region’s notable literary events.
“I really enjoyed attending the event on both days, not just because of the rich programme, but especially thanks to the atmosphere you managed to create. Meeting authors, engaging conversations, and even the small moments between the individual sessions were truly memorable. (…) And the poetry, the science, the humility, the humour… simply harmony, just as Professor Šmarda described it – and it was present not only among the cells, but throughout the entire event.”

Fourth edition of the Books in Brno literary festival will take place on 27. and 28. november 2026.
