Četba Tří z Jeruzaléma zazněla na Pražském hradě
On the evening of Saturday, 30 May 2026, the grand halls of the Supreme Burgrave's Palace at Prague Castle played host to a staged reading of Arnošt Lustig's short story Three from Jerusalem, taken from the collection of the same name published by Masaryk University Press.
The reading was performed by Carmen Mayerová, Tereza Kostková, and Petr Kostka, who also presented The Glow of the Midnight Sun from Lustig's novel Street of Lost Brothers. The evening was directed by Eva Lustigová.
The programme offered audiences a deeply moving cultural experience – a haunting literary text brought to life by some of the Czech Republic's finest actors, all within the exceptional surroundings of one of Prague's most historic venues. The staged reading was followed by a panel discussion with Eva Lustigová, the performers, and representatives of the publishing house, shedding light on how the project came together and the broader context behind it.
The event was organised by the Arnošt Lustig Memorial Fund in cooperation with the Prague Castle Administration, as part of the FestivAL100 honouring the life, work, and legacy of the acclaimed writer and humanist Arnošt Lustig.
